I developed my approach to practice and business while enrolled in the MSMFT program, after a lifetime of being an eldest-daughter, a career as a caretaker of families in their postpartum transition…and after a couple of years in community mental health.
But the real point here is that I started developing the tools I would need in order to be able to do exactly what I just described to you years before I launched… and it worked but that is not the part I want you to focus on. I want to tell you what happened next.
What happened next was I went back to grad school to develop real evidence-based approaches to the business of therapy, as a doctor of business administration (“its doctor, actually” pending). Taking the education I had gathered before starting my own business (one book, podcast and YouTube video at a time) to an exponentially more informed place.
